Getting to the trail-head is very easy and is a nice detour if traveling along the I-15 corridor in southern Utah. The town of Kanarraville is 40 miles north of St. George, UT and 13 miles south of Cedar City, UT via I-15 and Old U.S. highway 91. While parking is available at the trail-head for $10 you can also park at Kanarraville town hall located on Main street just blocks away with no charge. Parking $10
At the trail-head there is a nice parking area. Depending on the day, there may be an individual there to take your money upon entrance and other times it is self pay. While it is private land, the parking lot is convenient and thoughtful for out of town hikers. There is fresh water to fill up water bottles/camelbaks as well as well as porta-potties available for use. There are also picnic tables.
*Traveling North from St. George you would take exit 42 leading into Kanaraville. Headed north proceed 4.6 miles to 100 North. Turn right (east) and proceed to trailhead at end of road. Parking lot is on the left.
*Traveling South from Cedar City, take exit 51 and proceed 4.9 miles into Kanaraville. Headed south proceed to 100 North and take a left (east) and proceed to trail head at end of road. Parking is on the left.
The town hall is located on 40 S. Main street (Old Hwy 91) on the west side of the street next to an LDS Church. It is approximately 5 blocks away from trail-head. It has ample parking available with a grassy field, shade trees and play equipment for kids to run around in while preparing or packing up from the hike. It takes approximately an extra 10 minutes of walking time from the town hall to the trail-head. Parking on side streets is not allowed in such a small town.
